Transcendence is the step after expeditions where dungeons add a scaling difficulty and the card system that powers it. Season 1 at global launch has two transcendence dungeons. This guide covers what the four levels do, each boss in Deus Research Base and Shattered Arkanis, and the Arcana cards you chase inside them. Back to the Beginner Guide.
What Are Transcendence Dungeons in Aion 2?
Transcendence dungeons are the 5-player endgame dungeons above expeditions. Each run is timed: you fight through two named bosses, then kill enough monsters to unlock the final boss, all against a running clock. A higher level adds a new debuff to the run and better rewards.
At global Season 1 only two dungeons exist in this tier.
Entry Requirements and the Four Difficulty Levels
Transcendence dungeons come in four difficulty levels. Each level up adds a new debuff, such as poison pools on the ground or a damage-over-time ailment when you're hit, layers on more boss mechanics, and raises how many monsters you need to clear before the final boss unlocks. Reward quality rises with the level too.
| Level | What changes | Farm or push |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Entry level. Global level 1 can already give rare Arcana, that is the global change. | Farm — no Heroic items exist yet at global launch, so level 1 drops are worth taking. |
| 2 | Adds another debuff and boss mechanics on top of level 1; the monster count to unlock the final boss goes up. | Attempt once your gear handles level 1. |
| 3 | Adds another debuff and boss mechanics on top of level 2; the monster count goes up again. | Attempt once your gear handles level 2. |
| 4 | The heaviest debuff stack and mechanic count in Season 1. | Attempt once your gear handles level 3. |

Most groups start at level 1, collect the rare Arcana that global adds there, then move up one level at a time as their gear allows.
Deus Research Base: Every Boss
BoredAF's guide shows level 4 clears, where every pattern is active; lower levels may not show every mechanic yet.
steps
- Gelcos, the first boss. He marks a party member, then charges and jumps onto them, if you're not marked, stay out of the path between him and his target. He periodically lashes his whip around, rotate damage-reduction cooldowns as needed. A stronger variant turns the ground black around him and pulls the whole party toward him while he swings the whip, dash out of range or use a defensive cooldown. Otherwise, dodge the damage indicators and stay out of the electrical pools.
- Nazmun, the second boss. No real dangerous mechanics yet: dodge the indicators as they come and jump over the lasers as they sweep around.
- Atiel, the final boss. Two party members get linked by a chain and must run apart to break it; a party member can also become chained to the platform, if that happens, stack on them to soak the damage. Atiel then shouts, pushing the party away and sending stunning damage waves out from the center, dodge them and stay off the edge, since the platform shrinks once this phase ends. Every party member is then linked to the boss by a blue chain and takes damage if they stray too far, so stay close. These phases repeat until roughly 20% health, when Atiel jumps to the middle of the now-smaller platform and becomes staggerable, dodge the indicators and land the stagger to stop him breaking the platform and wiping the group.

BoredAF calls Shattered Arkanis the harder of the two dungeons, which makes Deus Research Base the more forgiving first clear.
Shattered Arkanis: Every Boss
These bosses are also shown at level 4, where every pattern is active.
steps
- Siliator of Deceit, the first boss. When the large AoE indicator appears, spread out, it causes a blade to bounce between party members standing too close together. The main mechanic sends a blade chasing two party members each, line up the red lines so the two blades collide and break each other.
- Ruthilis of Pain, the second boss. The boss sections the arena off one quarter at a time in a clockwise rotation. Early in the fight it marks a circle around itself, stand inside it to avoid damage. After that, dodge the repeating lightning strikes, a party member hit by one sends out an electrical wave the rest of the group has to jump over. None of this hits hard alone, but it adds up, so avoid what you can.
- Talisra of the Void, the final boss. Decide colors before you start: two party members grab white orbs, two grab black or purple orbs. The boss sends damaging blue waves and stunning pink waves, and spawns four spears, destroy the white spear quickly and kite the circle if it targets you. Collect orbs of your assigned color around the boss, then stand close to your teammates without overlapping circles, and watch the boss's weapon for the flashing color order, standing in the matching bubble for each blast. One party member is then trapped, move the spears to hit and free them, then destroy the white spear again. The orb-grab repeats with a pink wave to jump over this time, then the weapon-color check repeats with three colors instead of two. Keep cycling these mechanics until the boss is down.

BoredAF rates Shattered Arkanis as the harder of the two dungeons.
The Arcana Card System Explained
Arcana are cards you collect inside transcendence dungeons. They form sets and are leveled.
| Thing | What it does |
|---|---|
| Card | Single bonus. One card alone is small. A set together is the power. |
| Set | Cards that share a name and threshold. Completing a set gives the set bonus. |
| Season 1 cards | The cards available at global launch. Korean later-season sets are not in global Season 1. |
| Card level | Feed a card unused cards or experience cards to raise its skill and passive bonus. |
| Global level-1 change | On global, level 1 transcendence can already drop rare Arcana. In Korea, level 1 only gives common rarity. |
The set threshold is the real chase at Season 1: the bonus comes from completing a set, not from any single rare card.
Leveling and Crafting Arcana Cards
steps
- Level 1 clears are worth farming at global launch: level 1 can already drop rare Arcana, and there are no Heroic items yet to chase instead.
- Feed unused cards or experience cards into the card you want to keep, that raises its level and its skill or passive bonus. Mix and match cards for the set effects, god stats, and skill or passive level you want, rather than chasing a single card in isolation.

The set bonus is the power, more than any single card's rarity.

Transcendence and Arcana FAQ
FAQ
What are transcendence dungeons at global launch?
Two 5-player dungeons, Deus Research Base and Shattered Arkanis, with four shared difficulty levels that scale a debuff and the rewards.
What is different about Arcana at global launch?
Rare Arcana can already drop at level 1 on global; in Korea, level 1 only gives common rarity Arcana. That makes early level 1 clears real farm, not just practice.
How do Arcana cards work?
Collect cards into sets. Feed unused or experience cards into a card to level it up. The set bonus matters more than any single card.
Should I push straight to level 4?
No specific per-level breakdown is confirmed, but each level adds a new debuff and more boss mechanics, and raises how many monsters you need to clear before the final boss unlocks, so prove yourself on the level below before stepping up.
