Legal
Terms
These are the terms you accept by reading MMO Codex. They are short because the site is small: it publishes guides, it asks nothing of you, and it makes no promise it cannot keep. Last updated: 29 August 2026.
Content provided as-is
Everything here is published for information. A guide describes what worked in a named version of a named game at the time it was written, and games change — a balance pass, a hotfix or a new league can invalidate a build, a route or a price without anything on this page changing.
So the version stamp on a guide is part of the guide, not decoration. You are responsible for checking that the advice still applies to the version you are playing, and for the time and in-game resources you spend acting on it. Nothing here is financial advice, and nothing here is a statement about what any game’s operator will permit: read the rules of the game you are playing, which are the only authority on what is allowed in it.
No warranty
This site is run by one person, not a company. The MMO Codex editorial desk is the name the writing is published under; there is no registered entity behind it, and this clause says so rather than implying one.
It is provided as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or continued availability. To the fullest extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for any loss arising from the use of this site or reliance on anything published on it — including lost progress, lost in-game currency or wasted time.
Nothing here limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Anything you would otherwise address to a company — a correction, a complaint, a rights query — goes to contact@mmo-codex.com, and reaches the person who writes the site.
Attribution and reuse
The text of these guides belongs to The MMO Codex editorial desk. You may quote a reasonable extract — a paragraph, a table row, a set of numbers — anywhere you like, provided you credit MMO Codex and link to the guide you took it from. That includes forum posts, Discord, videos and wikis, and no permission is needed for it.
Republishing a guide in full, or a substantial part of one, needs permission first. So do translations: a translated guide carries this site’s claims into a language we cannot check, so it must credit MMO Codex, link to the original, and say which version of the original it was translated from. Automated republication and scraped copies are not permitted in any language.
Trademarks
World of Warcraft, Path of Exile, Old School RuneScape, Final Fantasy XIV, Black Desert, The Elder Scrolls Online, Albion Online, Guild Wars 2, Throne and Liberty, Warframe, Scars of Honor, and all other game names, logos, screenshots and in-game terminology referred to here are the property of their respective owners. MMO Codex is an independent publication: it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or approved by any of those publishers or developers, and it speaks for none of them. They are named here for identification, which is what writing about a game requires.
Questions
Questions about these terms, permission requests, and translation requests all go to the same place, and we answer them in the order they arrive.
